KKR vs RR Match Highlights: In a thrilling match played on Wednesday, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets and registered their first win of the season. On the other hand, Rajasthan had to face their second consecutive defeat. KKR bowlers first performed brilliantly and bundled out Rajasthan for 151 runs, after which Quinton de Kock’s stormy innings of 97 not out gave the team victory with 15 balls to spare.
De Kock Leads the Way for KKR
Chasing the target of 152 runs, KKR started with Moeen Ali and Quinton de Kock. Ali, who was playing his first match this season, was unfortunately run out after scoring just 5 runs. Captain Ajinkya Rahane also could not last long and was dismissed by Wanindu Hasaranga after scoring 18 runs in 15 balls. At that time the score was 70 runs in 10.1 overs. But de Kock held one end and did not let the pressure come on the team with brilliant shots.
After Rahane was out, young Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who came as an impact player, supported de Kock well. Both batted sensibly and took the innings forward and took the team to victory. On the third ball of the 18th over, de Kock hit a six to seal the victory. However, he fell just 3 runs short of his century. De Kock scored an unbeaten 97 off 61 balls, which included 6 sixes and 8 fours.
Rajasthan’s Bowling Struggles
No bowler from Rajasthan Royals could make an impact. The situation was such that even Riyan Parag was brought in to bowl in the powerplay. 7 players of the team held the ball, but only Hasranga could take the only wicket. The rest of the bowlers looked helpless in front of KKR’s batting.
KKR’s Bowlers Shine
Earlier, KKR bowlers performed brilliantly and stopped Rajasthan at 151 runs. Vaibhav Arora gave the first blow by bowling out captain Sanju Samson. After this, Varun Chakraborty dismissed Riyan Parag (25), while Moeen Ali showed the way to the pavilion to Yashasvi Jaiswal (29).
Moeen Ali took 2 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs, while Varun Chakraborty bowled miserly, giving only 17 runs in 4 overs and taking 2 wickets. Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora also took 2-2 wickets, while Spencer Johnson got 1 wicket. This brilliant bowling made the way to victory for KKR easy.
