Moga, Feb 7: Two brothers will spend the rest of their lives in prison following their conviction in a murder case by a Moga court. Gurtej Singh and Chinda Singh were found guilty of the charges, marking a significant conclusion to the trial for the adult defendants.
The sentencing marks a major development in the case, though the legal matter is not yet fully closed. Two minors, who were also named in the initial investigation, are currently appearing before the Juvenile Justice Board to face separate inquiries.
“The court has concluded the trial for Gurtej and Chinda Singh with a life sentence. Regarding the other two involved, the matter is still under consideration by the Juvenile Justice Board,” a court representative noted.
Officials directly said that the distinction in sentencing and trial venues is a standard legal requirement when dealing with both adults and juveniles. The board is expected to review the evidence against the minors independently of the life sentences handed to the elder brothers.
