Lucknow Super Giants registered their second win in IPL 2025 by defeating Mumbai Indians by 12 runs in a thrilling match. Batting first, Lucknow scored 203 for eight in 20 overs on the back of half-centuries from Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram. In reply, Suryakumar Yadav also hit a fifty but his efforts went in vain and Mumbai could only score 191 for five in the stipulated overs. For Mumbai, Suryakumar scored 67 runs off 43 balls with the help of nine fours and a six.

Early Wickets Hurt Mumbai’s Chase

Chasing the target, Mumbai did not have a good start and lost the wickets of Will Jacks and Ryan Rickleton within 17 runs. After this, Suryakumar and Naman Dheer took over the innings and added 69 runs for the third wicket with brilliant batting. Naman, however, missed out on a half-century and was dismissed after scoring 46 runs off 24 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes. Mumbai brought in Tilak Verma as an impact player who played a good role in supporting Suryakumar.

LSG vs MI: Hardik’s Late Fireworks Not Enough for Mumbai

Suryakumar scored a half-century off 31 balls and then continued to play aggressively. Suryakumar was dismissed by Avesh Khan. After Suryakumar returned to the pavilion, captain Hardik Pandya came to the crease. Tilak Verma retired out after scoring 25 runs just before the final over and Mitchell Santner came to the crease in his place. Mumbai needed 22 runs to win in the last over. Hardik hit a six off the first ball of Avesh, but Avesh was successful in defending the target. Hardik remained unbeaten on 28 runs off 16 balls with the help of two fours and a six, while Santner also returned unbeaten after scoring two runs. For Lucknow, Shardul Thakur, Akash Deep, Avesh Khan and Digvesh Singh Rathi got one wicket each.
