LSG vs PBKS: Lucknow could only score 171

After losing the toss and batting first, Lucknow had a bad start. The team was reduced to 35/3 in the powerplay itself. Chasing a target of 172 runs, Punjab Kings did not get off to a good start with Priyansh Arya (8) getting out cheaply. But after this Prabhsimran Singh started batting aggressively. Prabhsimran was adjudged the Player of the Match.

Captain Shreyas Iyer and Wadhera’s finishing

Captain Shreyas Iyer took charge after Prabhsimran was dismissed. Iyer played an unbeaten innings of 52 runs in 30 balls, which included 3 fours and 4 sixes. This is his second consecutive half-century. In the last match against Gujarat Titans, he scored an unbeaten 97 and has scored 149 runs in two matches so far. Along with him, impact player Nehal Wadhera also hit an unbeaten 43 off 25 balls. Both of them shared an unbeaten 67-run partnership for the third wicket to give Punjab victory in 16.2 overs.

Lucknow’s bowling lackluster

For Lucknow, only Digvesh Rathi was able to make an impact, dismissing Priyansh and Prabhsimran with figures of 2/30. The rest of the bowlers, like Ravi Bishnoi and Shardul Thakur, failed to stop the Punjab batsmen. Rathi also celebrated controversially after dismissing Priyansh, which was discussed on social media.
