Ludhiana, March 8: Ludhiana law enforcement officials have initiated a probe after a video surfaced showing a young man performing a high-speed stunt on a moving motorcycle.
The footage, reportedly captured late at night on the Ferozepur Road elevated bridge, depicts the individual standing upright on a Royal Enfield Bullet with his arms outstretched while the vehicle continues at a high velocity.
Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma declared that the department will take firm legal action against the individual involved.
The Commissioner maintained that the police force adheres to a policy of zero tolerance regarding the violation of traffic norms, noting that such behavior jeopardizes public order.
The incident occurred on one of the busiest thoroughfares in the city, raising significant alarms regarding road safety.
Witnesses noted that the youth was not wearing a helmet and appeared indifferent to the risk of a collision.
Furthermore, observers were seen recording the act on mobile phones as the motorcycle moved through traffic.
Local authorities affirmed that these displays of bravado are particularly concerning given the recent uptick in fatal road accidents across Ludhiana.
Despite ongoing safety campaigns, officials noted that some individuals continue to operate vehicles with a blatant disregard for established regulations.
