Ludhiana, June 18, 2025: Voting in the Ludhiana West Assembly constituency will take place tomorrow, June 19, across 194 polling stations, with the Election Commission and district administration finalising preparations to ensure a smooth electoral process.
To enhance the voter experience, 10 model polling stations have been set up where citizens will be welcomed on a red carpet. “We’ve made all arrangements to facilitate comfortable and inclusive voting,” said the Deputy Commissioner, adding that each model booth will feature help desks, volunteers to assist voters, and festive decorations.
With scorching summer conditions in mind, drinking water and shaded waiting areas have been arranged, especially for senior citizens, pregnant women and persons with disabilities. A women-only polling station at Lodhi Club will be fully staffed by female personnel, including polling officials and security staff.
In a bid to promote environmental responsibility, a ‘green’ polling station has been set up at the Government School in PAU, where voters will be encouraged to plant saplings. “Wheelchairs will also be available at every polling station to ensure accessibility for all,” the DC added.
