JALANDHAR, May 19 — A massive fire broke out at a tyre manufacturing unit in the Gadaipur locality of Jalandhar’s industrial zone early Monday, prompting a large-scale response from emergency services, officials confirmed.
The Punjab Fire Services received the first alert at approximately 5:15 a.m., following which more than 30 fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the site.
“We received information about the fire in the Gadaipur rubber (tyre) factory around 5.15 a.m. Thirty fire tenders were rushed to the spot,” a fire services official told ANI.
The cause of the blaze is yet to be determined, and firefighting operations continued through the morning. No injuries or casualties have been reported so far.
Emergency personnel are working to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby industrial units.
