“In the interest of the self-respect movement of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and following the discipline set by Shri Kanshiram ji, Shri Akash Anand, like his father-in-law, is expelled from the party,” Mayawati announced on X.

On Sunday, she had replaced Anand with his father, Anand Kumar, and Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam as BSP’s national coordinators. She also stated that she would not name a successor in her lifetime.

Anand Calls It an Emotional but Defining Moment
Reacting to his expulsion, Akash Anand said he fully respects Mayawati’s decision and sees it as “patthar ki lakeer” (carved in stone).

While admitting the move had an emotional impact, he framed it as a challenge. “Some in the opposition think my political career is over. They must realize that the Bahujan Movement is not a career but a fight for the self-respect of crores of Dalits, exploited, and poor people,” he said on X.

He credited Mayawati’s leadership for instilling in him values of sacrifice, loyalty, and dedication, adding, “This movement cannot be suppressed. Lakhs of Akash Anands are ready to keep this torch burning and sacrifice everything for it.”
