Ministers Flag Off Pilgrim Train to Varanasi for Guru Ravidas Ji’s Parkash Purab

Punjab to celebrate 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji on grand scale

CHANDIGARH, Jan 29 — Punjab Cabinet Ministers Harpal Singh Cheema and Lal Chand Kataruchak, along with Lok Sabha MP Raj Kumar Chabbewal, flagged off a special train from the city railway station carrying devotees to Varanasi for the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. The leaders urged the public to embrace the principles of universal brotherhood and equality to build a more inclusive society.

The Finance Minister announced that the state has already finalized a roadmap to celebrate the upcoming 650th Parkash Purab with unprecedented devotion. He mentioned that the Cabinet Sub-Committee has planned statewide events to honor the life and spiritual travels of the Guru.

“The Punjab Government led by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann will observe the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji on a grand scale with devotion and reverence,” Cheema said after seeking blessings from Sant Niranjan Dass Ji of Dera Ballan.

Cheema also noted that the administration has recently signed a sale deed to establish a dedicated research center focused on the Guru’s sacred Bani. He said that these teachings remain the primary guide for achieving social harmony and justice in the modern era.

“Sri Guru Ravidas Ji gave a timeless message of welfare of humanity and equality of all sections of society, and his teachings continue to guide society towards social harmony and justice,” the Finance Minister directly said.

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak greeted the pilgrims on the 649th Parkash Purab, stating that the government is working to fulfill the Guru’s vision of a society where no individual suffers from hardship or discrimination. He mentioned that specific plans are in place to ensure the 650th anniversary is celebrated in a historic manner.

“The Bhagwant Mann Government remains fully committed to shaping a society rooted in the teachings and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji,” Kataruchak said while addressing the gathering of devotees at the station.
