Washington/New Delhi, 10 February 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for a four-day visit to France and the United States on Monday, where he will hold discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron and US President Donald Trump.

Before departing, Modi said he looked forward to strengthening ties with both nations. “Over the next few days, I will be in France and the USA to take part in various programs,” he stated.

Modi will be in France from February 10 to 12 at Macron’s invitation, co-chairing the AI Action Summit. “I will be holding talks with President @EmmanuelMacron towards strengthening India-France relations. We will also be going to Marseille to inaugurate a consulate there,” he posted on social media.

Following his France visit, Modi will travel to the US from February 12 to 14, where he will meet Trump and engage with senior US officials. “This visit will further cement India-USA friendship and boost ties in diverse sectors. I warmly recall working with President Trump during his first term, and I am sure our talks will build on the ground covered then,” he stated.

This will be Modi’s first in-person meeting with Trump since the latter began his second term in office. The two leaders last met during Trump’s state visit to India in February 2020 and have spoken twice on the phone since November 2024.
