Modi Welcomes Qatar’s Amir for Two-Day Visit

New Delhi, 17 February: Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally greeted Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani at the airport on Monday evening, marking a rare gesture of hospitality.

The Amir is in India for a two-day visit at Modi’s invitation, which includes meetings with President Droupadi Murmu and discussions with the Prime Minister on Tuesday.

This visit marks the Amir’s second state trip to India, following his previous visit in March 2015. During his stay, both leaders are expected to deepen ties in various areas, including trade, investment, energy, technology, and cultural exchanges.

India and Qatar share a long-standing relationship based on mutual trust, respect, and friendship, with recent years seeing a significant expansion of cooperation between the two nations.
