Mohali, April 27 — A Mohali court has stayed the order directing a polygraph test of several police officers linked to the custodial interview of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, halting the proceedings until the next hearing.
The court also issued a notice to the state and summoned the Station House Officer (SHO) for April 28, the date fixed for further proceedings.
It was argued before the court that the consent for conducting the polygraph test had been obtained under threat and coercion.
The court had earlier ordered the voluntary polygraph examination of ASI Mukhtiar Singh and constables Simranjeet Singh, Harpreet Singh, Balwinder Singh, Satnam Singh, and Amritpal Singh, all attached to the CIA Staff at Kharar.
The case stems from allegations surrounding the circumstances under which an interview of Bishnoi took place while he was in police custody.
