Mohali, March 5 — Mohali police seized ₹1.05 lakh in drug money and 9 grams of heroin in Darali village, while another 20 grams of heroin was recovered in Phase 11. Three suspects were arrested in both cases, with two of them having multiple drug trafficking cases against them.
DSP City 2 Harsimran Singh Bal stated that a police team, led by SHO Jaspreet Saran and SI Rikhil Yadav from the Aerocity police station, was patrolling Darali village when they spotted a car with ten young men inside. The occupants appeared intoxicated, and a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of heroin, along with foil paper and a lighter. “Avtar Singh Tari and Sukhdev Singh, both from Darali, were taken into custody. Tari has five prior drug trafficking cases, while Singh has one theft and three drug-related cases against him,” DSP Bal mentioned. A one-day police remand was obtained, and authorities are investigating their illegally acquired properties.
In a separate case, Phase 11 police arrested Ritik, a resident of Amb Sahib Colony, with 20 grams of heroin. SHO Gagandeep Singh’s team detained him during a patrol, registering a drug trafficking case. “The court has granted a two-day police remand, and investigations are underway to trace the heroin’s source and intended recipients,” DSP Bal stated.
Police claimed that a total of ten individuals were arrested for heroin and drug money-related offenses in the past 24 hours as part of their “war against drugs” campaign.
