Mumbai, 10 February 2025: Mumbai police have launched an inquiry into podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia over alleged controversial remarks made during a recent episode of India’s Got Latent, hosted by YouTuber Samay Raina.
Allahbadia, who runs the BeerBiceps channel, appeared as a guest on the show alongside content creators Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija. During the episode, he made comments that later prompted legal complaints.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dikshit Gedam, Zone 9, confirmed the development, stating, “An inquiry is going on (in the matter).”
Sources said a police team visited Khar’s Habitat building on Monday afternoon, where the show had been recorded.
The inquiry follows a written complaint submitted by Mumbai-based lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra, who accused Allahbadia of making obscene comments about parents, women, and their body parts.
“Police should register an FIR against the organiser, the online platform, the artists, and others concerned and thoroughly investigate the matter,” Rai said.
