New Delhi, July 23: A resident of Nagaland has sent 150 Cheese Burst pizzas valued at over 67,000 rupees to students demonstrating at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, offering a gesture of support from over 2,000 kilometers away. The donor, identified as Dielhi Dienu, arranged the massive food delivery after feeling unable to join the ongoing assemblies over educational accountability in person.
In a public message explaining his decision, Dienu expressed that seeing students gathering outdoors prompted him to take action from afar.
“Tonight, I couldn’t enjoy my own dinner with the grief that I couldn’t be there in the protest, and my fellow brothers and sisters are there starving,” Dielhi Dienu stated.
He maintained that distance should not prevent citizens from supporting youth demanding systemic improvements.
“I’m sitting here in Nagaland, while thousands of students are at Jantar Mantar, far away from home, fighting for what they believe is a better future and a fairer education system,” Dienu asserted. “I couldn’t be there with them, so this was the least I could do.”
Upon placing the order through a commercial pizza chain, Dienu instructed the delivery personnel to enter the gathering area directly and distribute the meals to anyone requiring sustenance.
When the delivery driver reached out to ask for a specific recipient, Dienu instructed him to share the food with anyone who had not eaten. The courier expressed emotional appreciation during the call, remarking on the impact of the gesture for the gathering crowds.
Dienu declared that his goal in sharing the story was strictly to inspire other citizens across the country to support the student movement through whatever means available to them.
