Sonepat, 19 January 2025: India’s Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, 27, recently married Himani Mor from Sonepat, Haryana, in a private ceremony that took many by surprise.
The wedding took place two days ago in India, with Chopra sharing the news on his social media handles on Sunday.
“I began a new chapter of my life with my family. Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Bound by love, happily ever after,” Chopra posted alongside photos from the ceremony.
The couple’s union was confirmed by Chopra’s uncle Bhim, who revealed the couple had left the country for their honeymoon.
“Yes, the marriage took place in India two days back. I can’t disclose the location. The girl is from Sonepat and currently studying in the US,” Bhim said from the family’s village in Khandra, near Panipat.
Bhim, who resides with Chopra in Khandra, explained the decision to keep the ceremony low-profile.
“We wanted to keep it that way,” he added, without revealing further details about the honeymoon destination.
Chopra, who earned India a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics and silver at the Paris Games, had been training in South Africa under the guidance of Czech javelin legend Jan Železný before the wedding.
