Shimla, April 2 — A Nepalese national was murdered in Theog subdivision, Shimla, on Wednesday, allegedly by another Nepali worker using a sharp weapon.

The victim, identified as Sushil, was found dead near an orchard, while the accused, Paras Ram, remains absconding.

According to a complaint by Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Juggo village, he had hired Paras about 15 days ago to work in his orchards and provided him accommodation in a nearby shed. On March 31, Paras told Kumar he was heading to Theog market, but on April 2, Kumar discovered Sushil’s blood-covered body while on his way to the orchard. Attempts to contact Paras went unanswered.

Kumar alleged that Paras, possibly intoxicated, murdered Sushil before fleeing.

Police recovered the body and collected evidence from the scene before sending it for post-mortem.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Theog, Siddharth Sharma, confirmed the incident, stating that a case has been registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

A manhunt is underway to locate the accused, he added.
