PATIALA, Jan 31 – Harpal Juneja officially assumed the role of Chairman of the Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) today at the corporate headquarters.

The joining ceremony followed a religious prayer service and was attended by senior cabinet ministers and party leadership who gathered to support the newly appointed head of the state transport body.

During the event, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar announced a significant boost to public infrastructure, stating that the government is prepared to introduce 1,300 new buses across the state.

Juneja detailed that the PRTC fleet specifically will soon see the addition of 100 midi buses, 309 large buses, and 254 vehicles under the kilometer scheme.

“I will leave no stone unturned to take this institution on the path of progress and contribute to making Punjab a colorful state once again,” Juneja said while expressing gratitude to the government leadership.

He noted that he intends to honor the trust placed in him through dedicated and transparent service.

Transport Minister Bhullar remarked on the shifting landscape of state travel, noting that government-run buses now outnumber private operators following a crackdown on illegal permits.

“The employees of PRTC are our family, and the Punjab government is providing relief by accepting their legitimate demands,” Bhullar added.
