Newly Appointed AICC In-charge Rajni Patil to Visit Himachal

New Delhi/Shimla, 20 February— Rajni Patil, the newly appointed All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge for Himachal Pradesh, is set to visit the state in the first week of March, raising expectations for the long-delayed reconstitution of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC).

It has been over three months since AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge dissolved the HPCC and other party units down to the block level. The delay has drawn criticism from Congress workers and ministers, who have urged swift action to revive the party’s organizational structure.

PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh confirmed Patil’s visit and called for an expedited reconstitution.

“We have urged her to restructure the HPCC at the earliest so that organizational work can resume and strengthen the party,” he said.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri, and Vikramaditya Singh have already met Patil in Delhi following her appointment.

HPCC president Pratibha Singh is also expected to meet her soon. With the restructuring process approaching, party leaders are likely to push for their allies to secure key positions.

The biggest question remains whether Pratibha Singh will retain her position as HPCC president or be replaced.
