Chandigarh, Sept 1: The release of Punjabi film Nikka Zaildar 4, featuring Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa in lead roles, has been pushed to October 2, with the makers citing the ongoing flood crisis in Punjab as the reason for the delay.

The movie was initially scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 21. However, widespread flooding caused by swollen Sutlej, Beas and Ravi rivers, along with seasonal rivulets triggered by heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, has affected several districts in Punjab.

Announcing the decision, Bajwa took to Instagram on Sunday to share a statement from the film’s team. The note said, “The entire team of Nikka Zaildar 4 has decided to postpone the release date of the film to 2nd October. Due to an unforeseen severe flood situation in several areas of Punjab, we believe that it is our duty to stand by the people of Punjab during these tough times.”

The statement further added that the cast and crew plan to extend on-ground support. “The Nikka Zaildar team has decided to visit the affected areas themselves very soon and provide trucks full of ration and other necessary items to the affected people at the earliest. We stand with Punjab,” the post read.

Bajwa, 36, captioned her post with a message of solidarity: “The release of Nikka Zaildar 4 is now scheduled for 2nd October 2025. In these challenging times, our team stands with Punjab and extends support to the affected families.”

Directed by Simerjit Singh, the upcoming installment also stars Nirmal Rishi and Parminder Gill. The Nikka Zaildar series, known for its blend of comedy and romance, has been one of the more popular Punjabi franchises.

In addition to this project, Bajwa is also preparing for her role alongside Tiger Shroff in Baaghi 4, set to release on September 5. The action film features Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu in a pivotal role.
