Mumbai, 29 October, 2024: A 20-year-old man was arrested in Noida for allegedly making threat calls to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of slain Maharashtra politician Baba Siddiqui, Mumbai Police officials confirmed on Tuesday.

The call, made to Siddiqui’s public relations office in Bandra East, included death threats and demands for money, police said.

“The threatening call came on Friday evening. The caller threatened to kill Zeeshan Siddiqui and Salman Khan if demands for money were not met,” said a Mumbai Police spokesperson.

Following the complaint by a staff member at Siddiqui’s office, a case was registered against unknown persons at the Nirmalnagar police station.

The incident has drawn attention as it follows the recent assassination of Zeeshan’s father, Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader. Baba Siddique was fatally shot by three assailants on October 12 near his son’s office in Mumbai’s Nirmal Nagar area.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, led by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has since claimed responsibility for the high-profile killing. In connection with the case, Mumbai Police have detained 15 suspects.

Nine of the accused, implicated in Baba Siddique’s murder, appeared before the Esplanade Court in Mumbai on October 26 after their police custody ended, marking the latest development in the ongoing investigation.
