Katra, March 17 — Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, known as Orry, and seven others have been booked for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, the base camp for the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Monday.
An FIR was registered after Katra Police received a complaint on March 15 about guests violating rules prohibiting alcohol and non-vegetarian food at the base camp.
The accused—Orhan Awatramani, Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Anastasila Arzamaskina—allegedly ignored warnings from hotel staff.
“Given the gravity of the matter, Reasi SSP Paramvir Singh has directed police to take strict action and ensure zero tolerance for acts that may hurt public sentiments at religious sites,” a police officer said. A team has been formed to trace the accused.
