Patiala, Feb 3: A free medical camp organized by the AYUSH Department of the Punjab Government drew 765 patients to the Ayushman Arogya Kendra in Karhali on Tuesday. The initiative, held under the guidance of Director Ayurveda Punjab Dr. Raman Khanna, offered specialized consultations in both Ayurvedic and Homeopathic systems of medicine.
The specialized team examined a wide range of ailments, including joint pain, skin disorders, stomach issues, and gynecological concerns. Out of the total attendees, 343 sought Ayurvedic treatment while 322 opted for Homeopathic care. In addition to expert consultations, the camp provided free blood sugar testing and distributed essential medicines to all patients at no cost.

Dr. Mohan Kaushal, District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer, visited the site to oversee the operations and commended the medical staff for their dedicated service. He noted that such camps are vital for bringing traditional healthcare to the doorstep of rural residents.

“The team’s efforts in managing such a large turnout effectively are highly appreciated,” Dr. Kaushal said. He mentioned that the department remains committed to expanding access to holistic treatments across the district.
The medical team included Dr. Yagesh Bhatia, Dr. Mandeep Singh, and Dr. Rajneesh from the Ayurveda wing, alongside Homeopathy experts Dr. Manpreet and Dr. Akwinder. Staff members including Mrs. Sona, Sachin Upved, and Gurcharan Singh managed the distribution of free supplies, while Yogesh, the center’s incharge, educated attendees on home remedies and seasonal disease prevention.
