Ludhiana: At least three people were killed, and around 15 others sustained injuries after a Jagran pandal collapsed in Ludhiana last night due to a heavy storm.

According to reports, the incident occurred near the Shri Govind Godham Temple on Hambran Road during an open-air Jagran held in the ground behind the temple with the storm striking unexpectedly around 2 am, prompting attendees to seek shelter under the pandal.

However, as winds intensified, the structure could not withstand the pressure and collapsed, trapping many beneath it.

Immediate rescue efforts were launched by those present, who worked to rescue people trapped under the debris, an official said.

Among the injured, the majority were children sitting in the front row during the event.
