London, March 29 — Skygazers across the Northern Hemisphere gathered on Saturday to witness a partial solar eclipse, with London experiencing its peak at around 11 AM.
The event was visible across parts of the UK between 10 AM and noon.
Astronomers and enthusiasts assembled at observatories and public spaces, donning eclipse glasses and peering through telescopes.
Robert Massey of the Royal Astronomical Society described the atmosphere as electric, with people eagerly tracking the Moon’s movement across the Sun.
According to the UK Met Office, visibility varied, with northwestern regions witnessing a more pronounced eclipse, while the southeast saw about 30% of the Sun obscured.
The celestial event was also visible in Spain, Russia, Italy, Portugal, and other countries in the Northern Hemisphere.
Astronomers emphasized the precision of modern space predictions, with Imo Bell from the Royal Observatory Greenwich noting that the eclipse unfolded exactly as expected.
