Patiala, August 23: In a major achievement for the state’s public education sector, Dinesh Kumar, a dedicated Physics lecturer at Government Victoria Girls Senior Secondary School in Patiala, has been chosen for the National Teachers’ Award 2026. The prestigious award, presented annually by the President of India on September 5, celebrates exceptional educators who bring extraordinary dedication and innovative approaches to the classroom.
State leadership expressed deep appreciation for the veteran teacher’s long-standing impact. Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains congratulated Dinesh, asserting that the recognition reflects both personal excellence and the rising standards across Punjab’s academic institutions. The minister maintained that the educator’s hands-on methods have successfully brought complex scientific concepts to life for generations of students.
An alumnus of Government Mohindra College and Punjabi University, Dinesh has spent 25 years in government service perfecting a teaching methodology centered on accessible explanations and practical, laboratory-based learning. Addressing his recognition, Dinesh affirmed that the honor came as a pleasant surprise, stating that his primary goal has always been to simplify concepts so every student feels included.
