CHANDIGARH, 25 June — Patiala will take on Ludhiana in the final of the Punjab State Inter-District U-19 Women’s One Day Limited Over Tournament, to be played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) International Stadium in Mullanpur on June 24.
Both teams cruised through their semifinal fixtures with commanding performances. Patiala outclassed Amritsar by nine wickets, while Ludhiana registered a convincing eight-wicket win over Jalandhar to seal their spot in the title clash.
In the first semifinal, Patiala’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance, bundling out Amritsar for just 49 runs. Sehajpreet Kaur Randhawa (10) was the only batter to reach double digits, as Amritsar’s innings collapsed in 33 overs under sustained pressure from a disciplined bowling attack.
Patiala chased down the modest target with ease. Openers Harsimrat Kaur (27) and Jyoti (16) ensured a smooth finish, taking their side past the finish line with minimal fuss. Bhawna picked the lone wicket for Amritsar, but it wasn’t enough to dent Patiala’s momentum.
In the second semifinal, Ludhiana showcased their all-round strength, dismissing Jalandhar and comfortably chasing the target with eight wickets in hand. Details of that match are awaited, but the dominant margin of victory sets the stage for an evenly matched final between two in-form sides.
