Chandigarh, August 29 – Showing solidarity with flood-affected families, members of the Punjab Civil Services (Executive Branch) on Friday announced they would donate one day’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

The decision came during a meeting of the PCS (EB) Officers’ Association, which reviewed the widespread damage caused by heavy floods across multiple districts. “The situation in several areas remains extremely grim, with people suffering heavy losses of life and property,” the association said in a resolution.

Reaffirming their commitment to public service, the officers pledged to continue assisting the state administration in relief and rehabilitation work. “Our duty does not end with official responsibilities. We stand with the government and the people of Punjab in this difficult time,” the association noted.

The officers said their contribution to the relief fund was a symbolic gesture, meant to underscore their unity with those struggling in flood-hit regions. In addition to financial support, members vowed to remain active in ground-level operations wherever required.

The association also offered prayers for the safety of Punjab’s people and an early return to normalcy across affected districts.

“It is pertinent to mention that yesterday, the chief minister announced that both his salary and the salaries of all MLAs will go to the relief fund.”
