Mumbai, 19 October, 2024: Zeeshan Siddique, son of NCP leader Baba Siddique, has posted a cryptic message on social media amidst ongoing investigations into his father’s assassination. The MLA wrote on X, “Not all that is hidden sleeps, Nor all that is visible speaks,” leaving many to speculate about its meaning. This comes as Mumbai Police revealed that a photograph of Zeeshan was found on the phone of one of the nine accused in the case, shared via Snapchat.
According to police, the accused used Snapchat to communicate, with messages auto-deleting after viewing. During interrogation, Ram Kanojia, one of the arrested suspects, disclosed that he was initially offered the contract to kill Baba Siddique for ₹1 crore by fugitive Shubham Lonkar. However, when Kanojia hesitated, Lonkar recruited shooters from Uttar Pradesh for a lower price, as they were unaware of Baba Siddique’s prominence in Maharashtra.
The Mumbai Crime Branch stated, “Kanojia and Nitin Sapre backed out, which led Lonkar to hire Dharma Raj Kashyap, Gurnail Singh, and Shivkumar Gautam.” Zeeshan Siddique has since met with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to discuss the matter.
Baba Siddique was shot dead near his son’s office in Mumbai’s Bandra area on October 12. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang later claimed responsibility for the murder, alleging that Baba Siddique had ties to underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim.
Zeeshan Siddique, son of NCP leader Baba Siddique, posted a cryptic message on social media amidst the ongoing investigation into his father’s assassination. The MLA shared on X (formerly Twitter), “Not all that is hidden sleeps, Nor all that is visible speaks,” a statement that has sparked widespread speculation, yet remains inscrutable. This post comes at a critical time, as Mumbai Police revealed on Saturday that a photograph of Zeeshan was discovered on the phone of one of the nine accused arrested in connection with the murder case.
Police officials have stated that the photo was shared with the accused through Snapchat by their handler. The investigation has revealed that the conspirators and shooters used Snapchat for communication, as the platform’s messages disappear once viewed, making it harder to trace their interactions. “The accused used Snapchat to share crucial information, with messages auto-deleting after being read,” a Mumbai police official explained.
During interrogation, Ram Kanojia, one of the arrested suspects, revealed that he was initially offered the contract to assassinate Baba Siddique by fugitive Shubham Lonkar. Kanojia, however, demanded ₹1 crore for the task, as he knew the risks involved in targeting such a high-profile figure. “Kanojia disclosed that Lonkar first approached him and Nitin Sapre to carry out the murder. Hesitant due to Baba Siddique’s prominent standing in Maharashtra, Kanojia demanded a hefty ₹1 crore fee,” the Crime Branch stated.
When Kanojia refused to go through with the plan, Lonkar shifted his strategy and decided to hire shooters from Uttar Pradesh, knowing they would be less aware of Baba Siddique’s influence in Maharashtra and willing to take the job for a lower fee. The Crime Branch added, “Lonkar ultimately selected Dharma Raj Kashyap, Gurnail Singh, and Shivkumar Gautam from Uttar Pradesh after Kanojia and Sapre backed out.”
Amidst the growing tension, Zeeshan Siddique recently met with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also holds the Home portfolio, to discuss the ongoing investigation. Baba Siddique was brutally gunned down near Zeeshan Siddique’s office in the Nirmal Nagar area of Mumbai’s Bandra on October 12. Following the assassination, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder, alleging that Baba Siddique had ties to India’s most-wanted criminal, Dawood Ibrahim.
