New Delhi, July 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that upcoming and existing Free Trade Agreements will strictly prioritize the interests of the nation’s farming community. Speaking at an NDA meeting as farmers from Punjab and Haryana organized marches toward the national capital regarding proposed trade discussions, the Prime Minister maintained that the government remains fully committed to safeguarding agricultural welfare. He affirmed that economic agreements signed by India are designed to advance the growth and security of rural livelihoods while fostering national development.
Briefing reporters after the session, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju declared that the welfare of farmers continues to be the highest priority for the administration. Rijiju stated that the Prime Minister reassured members that trade pacts will not compromise domestic farming interests, but rather protect and empower producers. The minister affirmed that the government maintains an open, proactive stance toward addressing the concerns of the agricultural community.
During the same address, the Prime Minister also touched upon administrative measures surrounding national competitive examinations, affirming that stringent steps are being taken against those involved in paper leaks. Government representatives maintained that constructive dialogue and policy protections will remain central to addressing all public representations moving forward.
