Goa, October 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with the crew of INS Vikrant on Monday, praising the coordination among the three armed services that led to Pakistan’s surrender during Operation Sindoor.
Modi, who arrived in Goa on Sunday evening, visited the aircraft carrier off the coast, observing operations on the Flightdeck. He watched MiG-29 fighter jets take off and land on the short runway, highlighting the navy’s air power capabilities.
The Prime Minister also witnessed a cultural programme performed by officers and sailors, featuring patriotic songs and a special composition celebrating the success of the armed forces in Operation Sindoor.
Sources said the visit was planned discreetly, enabling the PM to interact closely with the naval personnel while marking the festival of lights aboard India’s premier aircraft carrier.
