Police Arrest Five with 400g Heroin in Jalandhar

Jalandhar, 12 January 2025: Jalandhar Police arrested five people and recovered 400 grams of heroin, exposing links to a larger drug network, Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma disclosed.

The arrests followed an intelligence-based operation on the Qazi Mandi-Surya Enclave route, he said.

During routine patrolling, two suspects, Amandeep alias Bunty and Soma Rani, were stopped and found carrying 200 grams of heroin.

A case under the NDPS Act was registered at Rama Mandi Police Station on December 31, 2024.

Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of three more suspects—Ravinder Singh, Karan Kumar, and Gurpreet Singh—who were also caught with 200 grams of heroin.

Sharma stated that the operation revealed a connection to a larger drug network.

He added that further investigation is underway, and detailed information will be shared soon.
