Kanpur, Feb 9: Authorities have registered an FIR following a high-speed collision involving a Lamborghini on VIP Road that left six people injured in the Gwaltoli area. The luxury vehicle, allegedly operated by the son of tobacco tycoon K K Mishra, struck an autorickshaw and a motorcycle before crashing into a utility pole on Sunday afternoon.

The impact was so severe that one motorcyclist was reportedly thrown ten feet into the air. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Atul Kumar Srivastava confirmed the legal filing against an “unidentified person” as investigations continue into the exact circumstances of the crash.

“The accident occurred around 3.15 pm near Rev-3 Mall when the luxury car, allegedly driven by Shivam Mishra, went out of control and ploughed into people,” DCP Srivastava said.

Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene where the car dragged a motorcycle for several meters after mounting its front wheel. Taufiq, a local resident, sustained serious leg injuries after being thrown several meters by the force of the collision. Another victim, Sonu Tripathi, mentioned that he and his cousin were standing by their bike when the vehicle struck them.

“We have filed a complaint,” Tripathi said, noting that two other individuals were flung onto the sidewalk during the impact.

While the damaged vehicle has been seized, no arrests have been made. DCP Srivastava noted that a probe is underway to determine if the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Tensions rose at the scene as private bouncers accompanying the driver reportedly clashed with angry locals who had surrounded the car.
