Posterity & Sikh Heritage: World Sikh Council Hosts Gurmat Edu Camp

Kotkapura, April 25, 2025: To connect children with Gurmat teachings and Sikh religious heritage, the World Sikh Council organized a one-day Gurmat education camp at Village Dheeman Wali in Faridkot district.

According to reports, the event, held under the guidance of Panch Pradhani (Five Singhs), witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 500 children from 15 nearby villages.

The camp’s objective was to instill Sikh values, historical knowledge, and cultural pride in the younger generation.

It featured a series of educational activities, including a written test on Sikh history, a quiz competition focused on Gurmat knowledge, and traditional indigenous games.

Children also participated in recitations of poems and essays, showcasing the rich Sikh legacy.

Prominent figures such as Bhai Makhan Singh Sangrur, Bhai Pippal Singh Sri Damdama Sahib, and other religious scholars addressed the gathering, sharing inspiring messages.

The Five Singhs urged parents to actively involve their children in Gurmat education and ensure they connect with their Sikh roots.

To recognize the children’s efforts, all participants and supporters were honored with medals, shields, and sets of religious books.

The martial arts team from Dheeman Wali presented a captivating Gatka demonstration, showcasing the deep cultural and martial traditions of Sikhism.

The event concluded with heartfelt gratitude extended to the local Sangat of Dheeman Wali, Bhai Ghanaiya Ji Seva Society, Gurmat Parchaar Jatha Salina (Moga district), Gurmat Parchaar Jatha Talwandi Dasoundha Singh (Sri Amritsar Sahib district), and all other supportive organizations.

Among the prominent attendees were Bhai Balkar Singh Ferozepur, Bhai Sukhdev Singh Zira, Bhai Sham Singh Moga, Dr. Pippal Singh Sri Muktsar Sahib, Bhai Balwinder Singh Dheeman Wali, and many other sangat and parents from various villages.
