LUCKNOW — The Uttar Pradesh Government has completed preparations to integrate vocational skill training into the academic curriculum for students attending Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas, operated under the Social Welfare Department. Executed through the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission under Project Praveen for the 2026-27 financial year, the scheme aims to train over 3,000 students across various employment-focused trades. Thirty-one training provider institutions have been tasked with establishing centers, enrolling candidates, and initiating training modules by September 30, 2026.
Minister of State for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Kapil Dev Agrawal affirmed that the program seeks to build practical competencies in sectors such as Apparel, IT-ITeS, and Management without disrupting normal school hours. To ensure high-quality instruction, batches are capped at 35 students for a maximum duration of 300 hours. Mission Director Pulkit Khare maintained that strict verification via NCVET and NQR portals will ensure training adheres strictly to recognized standards, supported by mandatory study material distribution within seven days of batch formation.
