Chandigarh, March 18: Widespread panic, a property dealer was killed near an eye institute in Sector 9 on Wednesday. Initial reports affirmed that the assailants arrived at the scene on a motorcycle and opened fire on the victim. The attackers reportedly pumped approximately seven rounds into the victim before fleeing the scene, leaving the area in a state of high alert.
Police officials rushed to the spot immediately following the incident and cordoned off the entire area to maintain public safety. A forensic team was also summoned to the site to collect critical evidence from the crime scene. The authorities asserted that CCTV footage from nearby establishments is being meticulously examined to identify the motorcycle and the individuals involved in the targeted killing.
While the investigation is in its early stages, police suspect that the motive behind the fatal attack could be linked to either personal or business rivalry.
