MOHALI, Jan 12: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced that practical examinations for Classes 8, 10, and 12 will take place from February 2 to February 12, 2026. This schedule applies to regular students as well as those appearing through open schools, compartment, re-appear, and additional subject categories.
In a significant shift for the 2025-26 academic session, the board has decided that Computer Science practicals for Class 12 will now be assessed by external examiners. These tests will be held at the students’ own school centers, with question papers delivered via a secure online link. While Class 10 Computer Science practicals remain school-level assessments, authorities have mandated that schools record short video clips of the proceedings to be submitted to the board upon request.
“The board will appoint external examiners for all core subjects of Class 12,” a board official stated. This includes Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accounts-2, Fundamentals of e-Business, Home Science, and Computer Applications. District Education Officers have been tasked with rotating computer lecturers and teachers between government and private schools to ensure impartial evaluation.
For all other subjects not specifically assigned external staff, exams will be conducted internally using question papers drafted by the respective subject teachers. The board has issued a directive to all District Education Officers and school heads to ensure these guidelines are followed strictly to maintain the integrity of the annual examinations.
