Chandigarh, August 27: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann transferred ₹52.20 crore directly into the accounts of 1.37 lakh Satkar Sakhis as a Raksha Bandhan gift, commending their ground-level work in expanding the Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojna across the state. The financial release covers the initial incentive installment for worker efforts that have registered over 75 lakh women beneficiaries to date.
Addressing the Satkar Sakhis Sanman Programme virtually at Goindwal Sahib, the Chief Minister affirmed that the state aims to bring one crore women into the fold of the scheme. Under the payment structure, workers receive ₹300 per successful form completion, which is projected to distribute over ₹200 crore to the ground workforce overall.
The state administration confirmed that ₹2,381 crore has already been disbursed to 68.06 lakh women beneficiaries out of the 76.11 lakh total applications processed.
“On the pious occasion of Rakhi, our government is fulfilling the promise made to our sisters. Under the ‘Mawan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojna’, the ‘Sanman Rashi’ is being transferred into the accounts of more than 75 lakh women. My heartfelt thanks to all the ‘Satkar Sakhis’ who helped needy families with registration and filling out forms,” stated Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The Chief Minister asserted that the unconditional financial support provides dignity to every woman over 18 years of age, adding that the state has allocated ₹9,300 crore in the annual budget to ensure uninterrupted implementation as long as the current government remains in power.
AAP Punjab Women Wing President Dr. Amandeep Kaur maintained that the worker network represents the core strength of the administration’s outreach, noting that enhanced female representation in governance and administration continues to build public trust. Cabinet Ministers Aman Arora and Harbhajan Singh ETO also attended the event alongside elected local representatives.
