GURUGRAM, 1 Oct — The Punjab government is stepping up efforts to position the state as a hub for industry and employment, moving beyond its traditional identity as agriculture-dependent, officials said as the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann held a major roadshow in Gurugram on Tuesday, engaging directly with industrialists from across India to promote investment in the state.

Addressing business leaders, Mann said, “Punjab is a completely safe and favorable state for investment. The government will provide all kinds of support to industries and will always stand with them to drive development forward. Investing here offers a secure environment and a rapidly growing market.”

The roadshow included meetings with executives from Hero Cycles, Ralson India, Amber Enterprises, Uniminda, GMR Airports, and other major firms. Discussions focused on opportunities in mobility, electronics, renewable energy, consumer products, automobile components, and infrastructure. Company representatives expressed optimism about investing in Punjab.

To facilitate industrial growth, Mann announced a new mechanism called ‘Invest Punjab,’ aimed at providing businesses with quick access to approvals and essential facilities. The government said this initiative would save investors time, remove bureaucratic hurdles, and accelerate development, while creating employment opportunities for the state’s youth.

The Gurugram roadshow is part of preparations for the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit 2026, which the government hopes will cement Punjab’s position as a leading destination for investment.

Pramod Bhasin, founder of Genpact and chairman of the Punjab Innovation Mission, praised the state’s efforts, saying, “Punjab’s atmosphere is very good for investment, and new opportunities are emerging rapidly here. The government’s forward-thinking approach makes it clear that Punjab will soon become a center for industry, employment, and development.”
