Chandigarh, 25 February 2025 — The Punjab and Haryana High Court closed a petition on repeated power outages at Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, after Punjab’s Chief Secretary admitted a lapse in automatic switchover during outages.
He assured the court that by March 1, the facility would be provided at Rajindra Hospital and other government hospitals lacking it.
The issue, which had been in headlines for a long time, had reached the court due to frequent disruptions.
While disposing of the petition, the High Court granted the petitioner the right to re-approach if the government fails to act on its commitment.
