Chandigarh, 17 November 2024: The Punjab government has announced a holiday on November 20 for by-elections in four assembly constituencies.
According to the official notification, a local holiday will be observed in government offices, boards, corporations, and educational institutions in Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Sri Muktsar Sahib, and Barnala districts.
The order also provides a special leave for government employees registered as voters in the Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal, Giddarbaha, and Barnala constituencies, even if they work in different districts.
This leave, granted for voting purposes upon presentation of a voter ID, will not be deducted from the employee’s leave account.
