Chandigarh, August 27 —Punjab Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal announced that flood control rooms across all districts are functional 24×7 to respond to emergencies during the ongoing flood situation.
“These control rooms are equipped with modern communication systems and staffed with trained personnel who can coordinate rescue and relief operations effectively,” Goyal said.
The minister shared helpline numbers for all districts, including Ludhiana (0161-2433100), Amritsar (0183-2229125), Gurdaspur (01874-266376, 18001801852), Patiala (0175-2350550), and others. Citizens have been urged to remain vigilant and immediately contact control rooms in case of an emergency.
Goyal added that robust flood mitigation measures and preparedness protocols have been implemented to tackle every possible scenario. “Our teams are working round the clock to ensure that people receive immediate help whenever they need it,” he said.
