Chandigarh, March 2: The Punjab government has launched coordinated efforts to assist residents stranded at airports in the United Arab Emirates, specifically Dubai, following recent geopolitical instability in West Asia. NRI Affairs Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh stated that the administration is maintaining constant communication with affected individuals to ensure their safe return to the state.
Dr. Singh noted that the state is closely observing regional developments to provide necessary support to those caught in the travel disruptions. The minister affirmed that protecting the lives and interests of Punjabis currently abroad remains the government’s primary focus during this period of uncertainty.
As part of the state’s outreach, Dr. Singh personally conducted telephonic conversations with several tourists and expatriates stuck at Dubai International Airport and other UAE locations. The minister also consulted with Neeru Garg, Principal of SSD Girls College in Bathinda, to gather firsthand details regarding the specific challenges and conditions travelers are facing on the ground.
