Chandigarh, March 3 — In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Punjab Government on Monday transferred 36 IAS and 7 PCS officers, issuing new posting orders for several key departments.
Krishan Kumar now heads the Finance Department while retaining his position as Principal Secretary, Water Resources. His previous charge of the Taxation Department has been assigned to Jaspreet Talwar, recently promoted as Additional Chief Secretary.
Rahul Tiwari and Vikas Garg have switched roles, with Tiwari taking over the Food and Supply Department and Garg moving to Housing and Urban Development.
Senior IAS officer V.K. Meena now oversees the Social Justice and Minorities Department, while Alaknanda Dayal has been appointed to Employment Generation and Skill Development. Varinder Kumar Sharma is the new Director of Food and Supply.
In the Education Department, K.K. Yadav has been replaced by Anandita Mitra as Administrative Secretary.
The Rural Development Department has also seen significant changes following an inquiry into the alleged sale of village pathways in New Chandigarh to a private builder.
Secretary Dilraj Singh and Director Paramjit Singh have been replaced by Ajit Balaji Joshi and Uma Shankar Gupta, respectively.
Additionally, Neelima, previously in the Agriculture Department, has been appointed CEO of PEDA, with Babita taking over as Agriculture Commissioner. Gauri Prashar Joshi has been posted as Secretary in the Department of General Administration.
