Khuralgarh, FEB 6: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday announced a comprehensive, year-long series of religious and academic events to commemorate the 650th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji.

Speaking at a state-level function in Khuralgarh, the Chief Minister confirmed that the state government will implement all recommendations from the Sant Samaj to ensure the celebrations are held on an unprecedented scale until February 2027.

The roadmap for the commemorations includes international conventions, Sant Sammelans, and university-level seminars designed to spread the Guru’s message of an egalitarian society. To support this vision, the government has committed to major infrastructure projects, including the expansion of the Sri Guru Ravidass Memorial at Khuralgarh and the establishment of a specialized research center near Dera Ballan in Jalandhar.

Addressing the congregation on the 649th Parkash Purb, Chief Minister Mann noted that his administration is dedicated to fulfilling the spiritual and social vision of the Guru. “It is our collective duty to spread the message of Guru Ji across the globe. Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji envisioned an egalitarian society free from all forms of discrimination,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister mentioned that the state has already secured land worth Rs 10 crore for the Sri Guru Ravidass Adhyan Centre and established dedicated research chairs at Punjab University and Guru Nanak Dev University. He directly said that the state government will leave no stone unturned to celebrate the upcoming 650th Parkash Purb in an unsurpassed manner, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the religious programmes.

Beyond cultural initiatives, the Chief Minister linked the Guru’s philosophy of equality to current governance reforms, such as the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, which provides Rs 10 lakh in cashless treatment.
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia, also present at the event, noted that the government’s focus on equal access to education and health mirrors the Guru’s teachings.

“From this land, Guru Ji gave the message of human equality, and today the Punjab government and the Aam Aadmi Party are following this very path,” Sisodia said.
