Chandigarh, Dec 15:  Punjab Police on Monday announced the arrest of two foreign-based gangsters in a Mumbai interstate operation, marking a major breakthrough against terrorism and organised crime, officials said.

DGP Gaurav Yadav identified the arrested suspects as Sajan Masi from Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdaspur, and Manish Badi from Amritsar. “They were involved in Amritsar grenade attacks, cases of murder, extortion, and other criminal activities in the Dera Baba Nanak area,” Yadav said.

He added the two were reportedly backed by Pakistan-based ISI operative Harvinder Singh Rinda and US-based Happy Passia, who is currently detained in the United States. “They were in Dubai and later relocated to Armenia,” Yadav said.

Their third associate, Shemsher Shera who is currently in Armenia is also being tracked

The DGP said the operation was conducted with support from central agencies. “Punjab Police is fully determined to bring everyone to justice, even those based in foreign countries. Let me warn them — you will face trials in India,” he added.
