Hoshiarpur, April 20:  Law enforcement officials in Hoshiarpur have dismantled an inter-state narcotics and illegal arms syndicate following the arrest of four suspects on Monday. During the operation, police recovered 9.925 kg of heroin along with a significant cache of illicit weapons and ammunition.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav stated that the seizure included two foreign-made pistols, eight magazines, and 40 live cartridges. He declared that the successful operation represents a major breakthrough in the state’s ongoing efforts to curb organized crime and drug trafficking.

Initial inquiries indicated that the apprehended individuals were operating as local coordinators for gangsters based abroad. These foreign-linked handlers were reportedly managing the distribution of narcotics and the supply of illegal firearms across the region.

“Further investigation is underway to establish forward and backward linkages and dismantle the entire network,” the DGP maintained in a public statement. He affirmed that the police are focused on identifying every member of the chain involved in this trans-border module.

An First Information Report (FIR) has been formally registered at the Garhshankar police station. Authorities asserted that the investigation remains active as teams work to trace the financial and logistical origins of the recovered contraband
