CHANDIGARH, Sept 26 — Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared that Punjab has established itself as a premier investment hub, drawing ₹1.89 lakh crore in capital commitments over the past four years to generate 6.31 lakh job opportunities for local youth.
Reviewing progress within the Industries Department, the Chief Minister affirmed that improved administrative governance, streamlined clearance mechanisms, and enhanced infrastructure continue to build confidence among domestic and global enterprise groups. He noted that industrialization is moving rapidly beyond established hubs, creating balanced regional development across the state.
According to Common Application Form records spanning financial years 2022–23 through 2026–27, SAS Nagar (Mohali) led district allocations with ₹9,478 crore in proposed investments. Ludhiana followed with ₹4,968 crore, while Patiala and Hoshiarpur recorded ₹2,590 crore and ₹2,003 crore respectively. Additional commitments were secured in Fatehgarh Sahib, Bathinda, Kapurthala, and Jalandhar.
“The remarkable scale of investment reflects the growing confidence of domestic and global investors in Punjab’s industrial ecosystem,” Chief Minister Mann asserted, citing expansions by major corporations including Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Vardhman, Nestlé, Cargill, De Heus, and Freudenberg.
The Chief Minister added that specialized industrial clusters—such as the Hi-Tech Metal Cluster in Mohali, garment and oil expeller clusters in Ludhiana, and cutting tool facilities in Patiala—are being established to reinforce small and medium enterprises alongside major new industrial parks.
