CHANDIGARH, MAY 17 — Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday announced that the ruling administration will implement rigorous surveillance measures to protect the integrity of the upcoming Special Intensive Revision of voter lists.

The state executive asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party will deploy organizational workers across all local polling stations to assist and monitor the verification work conducted by Booth Level Officers. The deployment aims to ensure that no legitimate residents face disenfranchisement and to block any attempts to construct fraudulent voter entries for political advantage.

The administration stated that maintaining public trust in regulatory bodies remains a primary objective during state exercises. Chief Minister Mann said that the revision of electoral rolls must be executed with absolute transparency, honesty, fairness, and accountability so that every genuine voter can exercise their democratic right without fear or obstruction. He noted that operational reports from other states regarding large-scale voter deletions have created public anxiety, making it imperative for the Election Commission to address administrative grievances promptly.

The legislative cleanup is scheduled to proceed alongside broader data coordination efforts across the districts, with administrative records showing that approximately 83 percent of voter mapping has already concluded. Chief Minister Mann affirmed that while the names of deceased individuals or individuals who have permanently relocated abroad should naturally be removed from voter lists, no genuine resident of Punjab should face harassment or denial of voting rights under any circumstances.

Party coordinators stated that ground-level vigilance will be maintained throughout the multi-week oversight campaign. Representatives declared that the active presence of party assistants at booths will serve as a definitive check against procedural irregularities, ensuring a balanced and neutral enumeration process across the state.
