BATHINDA, Aug. 27 — The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Tuesday filed a supplementary challan in a local court against dismissed senior police constable Amandeep Kaur in a disproportionate assets case. She was produced before Additional District and Sessions Judge Surinder Pal Kaur through video conferencing. The case has been adjourned to September 16.
Kaur was first arrested on April 2 after 17.7 grams of heroin were allegedly recovered from her black SUV on Badal Road in Bathinda. She was later taken into custody by the VB on May 26 on charges of amassing assets beyond her known sources of income.
According to a VB statement, investigators examined details of Kaur’s movable and immovable properties acquired between 2018 and 2025, along with her salary records, bank accounts and loans.
The bureau’s earlier findings suggested that during the check period, Kaur’s income was ₹1.08 crore, while her expenditure reached ₹1.39 crore — around ₹31 lakh more than her known sources of income. Based on this, a case was registered under Sections 13(1) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act at the VB police station, Bathinda range.
Officials said the supplementary challan adds financial details to strengthen the case against the former constable, who remains in judicial custody.
